Enter The Cosmos.
Some watches make an entrance. This one stages an entire grand opera before you’ve even glanced at the time.
This Piaget is one of our favorite acquisitions—not just because it’s rare, but because it’s the perfect embodiment of everything that made Piaget the king of the ultra-thin, ultra-glamorous, and ultra-extravagant. It’s bold. It’s different. And it’s crafted with an audacity that few brands could pull off.
Let’s start with the case, because how often do you see a hexagonal watch? Not many brands even attempt it, but Piaget didn’t just attempt; they nailed it. The 18k yellow gold case is sharp, geometric, and unapologetically decadent, with diamonds encrusting the bezel, the lugs, and even the strap links. Speaking of the lugs, they pivot rather than sit fixed—because why just make a good-looking watch when you can engineer it to move beautifully, too?
Then there’s the dial, and oh, what a dial it is. Four individually cut opal sections frame a pavé diamond center, a design choice so bold and technically demanding that most brands wouldn’t even dream of it. Opal is notorious for being delicate and difficult to work with—one wrong move, one thin slice too far, and it cracks. But Piaget? They mastered the art. The opal here is pristine, free of fractures, and alive with deep blues, aquatic greens, and flickers of orange. It’s like staring into a galaxy or a very expensive kaleidoscope.
Adding to the drama are those strong dauphine hands, floating over the stone without a single numeral or index to interrupt the opal’s natural brilliance. Because, really, when you have a dial like this, who needs numbers?
Inside, the legendary Piaget 9P1 ultra-thin movement keeps things sleek, allowing the case to remain impossibly slim despite all the gem-setting. At just 30mm wide, it wears like a piece of high jewelry—because, frankly, that’s exactly what it is.
A few more flexes? The strap. The original design splits the leather into four sections by fusing gold links directly into it, a classic Piaget move that takes a traditional element and turns it into something completely unexpected. And because we believe a watch like this deserves the best, we’ve paired it with a brand-new Jean Rousseau custom-made midnight blue crocodile strap. The opal deserved a perfect canvas, and this was it.
So yes, we’re proud to have this one. It’s a quintessential Discreet Peacock piece: outrageous but refined, extravagant yet thoughtful, and a perfect reminder that the best vintage watches aren’t just about telling time. They’re about telling stories.
